New Moon Cafe in Kuta

We enjoyed our visit. It was fun to pick out your own seafood. I wish they had something on the menu for people who don't eat seafood, eg my partner. The heart was popular with lots of people getting their pics with the sun setting.

Disgusting, the seafood is not fresh! The manager admitted our seafood platter was not cooked fresh, they served us precook seafood that they reheated, when we asked them to take our food back because the food was cold they reheated it again!? So we were served seafood that had been cooked and reheated twice. Not to mention it cost $135 plus tax, with our drinks ended up being over $200 we spoke with the manager and they did not care and had no explanation as to why the food was not fresh as they claim on every staff T-shirt. Don’t go there, we left there hungry and down a lot of money, ended up buying a $2 corn off the beach and let me tell you, that what the highlight of our night. Save your money!

We literally payed +100$ for bad food. The portion is small compared to other restaurants near this one and the seafood has no taste. The service also does not pay justice to the price. It’s ridiculous, just walk a few more meters and pay half the price for better food.

Nice seafood resto in jimbaran with live band & balinese dance

Extremely disappointed and robbed. See for yourself in the photos. Prices were extremely overpriced and seafood used were lying among flies. I was taken here after asking my driver to take us to a cheap but good place at Djimbaran. Tourist trap. Do not go here! Left with a bad taste of Bali.

Would give 0 stars if possible, terrible tourist trap. Got dropped off here by our driver and shuffled through to plastic seating on the beach front. Made to go order our own food at the start of the restaurant which for being fresh was the most flavourless overpriced, overcooked food I have ever eaten. More people will surely be done by this scam which is a shame because 5 minutes either side will be lovely restaurants!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Beach restaurant. The tables and chairs were on the sand with the waves crashing right beside. There was a local cultural performance on the small stage as well as moving band going to each table to perform. Ambience wise, it was nice, especially if there was sunset while having dinner.However, the food was average. Seafood was not very fresh. Service was fine though.

You can have natural dinner here because you can feel the wind of the sea. You can see the live performance there too - music and dancing. But you can’t see clearly the sea at night and you must be carefull to get closer to the beach at night. The food is so standard and the price is so high for the standard of kind of foods there.

Bad food, pathetic ambience, overly priced- there’s nothing nice about this place. The drivers recommend it probably because they get tipped off, but don’t fall for it. Doesn’t add anything to your experience of Bali.

Can I give a minus score??? This place is the pits!!! We were shown to a table on the sand, right at the back, as we wanted some drinks and to look at the menu, apparently the front tables are reserved, we were told by a rude woman, running around shouting loudly across dinners at the horde of scruffy waiters. I would not eat here if you paid me, the white plastic table and chairs are disgustingly dirty, and the table is covered with a filthy green cloth, that probably hasn’t been cleaned in decades, we witnessed another table complaining about not receiving what they had paid for. We paid for our beers and left pretty sharpish. It was a real eye opener. Will find the pics of the filthy tables and chairs .

Great location to watch the sunset. Lobster & crab were delicious yet the rest of the seafood was ok. Cocktails were expensive despite the 10% discount they offered us after we said we might look elsewhere. After we finished the parking guy out the front of the restuarant told us our driver had gone home and we should use their driver. Funnily enough we got someone to call or diver & help was parked just 5 minutes away waiting...

Setting on the beach was nice, food was well over cooked for my liking

The taste of food is better compare other place but the price is overpriced. I ordered nearly all different types of seafood and it was ok. Nothing special. Just the location and decoration is nice. Nice table set up and clean. It is fresh from the aquarium. There is a live music as well while enjoying your dinner.

Picked my own Snapper, it was cooked to perfection, Balinese style. The Fire show was amazing. Great evening with dinner and a show on the beach. ❤

After hearing so much about Djimbaran Bay and the quality of the seafood I had to take a trip out there to experience the sunset and the food! My driver recommended the New Moon Cafe and as he was from a small fishing village near Ahmed I thought his opinion should be more than valid. He wasn’t wrong! The pricing was on par with any quality seafood restaurant in Australia but the chef did guide me in choosing wisely and getting value for money! Thanks!

Wonderful experience, food at the beach with live music and perfect sunset. Food is a bit pricey but you get a great location. Photo spots with lit up love hearts and little swings. Also a live Balinese performance with dancers and the dragon. Kid friendly and easy to access. A must go place

Nice atmosphere, great food and fast service. However we couldn't sit infront line tables even some were empty.. not sure if needs reservation but its stayed empty after we left 😓

Didn’t have any of the seafood as it didn’t seem very fresh. However, the drinks and chips were well priced. Heard people around us complaining about their food was reason enough. Nice sunset view while you have drinks but that’s about all, nothing overly special in comparison to other places in bali.

HORRIBLE. DO NOT GO HERE. Wish I could give 0 stars. Seafood was NOT fresh. Extremely overpriced. Like many other reviews, our driver just drove us right to the restaurant, saying it was the best in the area. After a long day of travel, we trusted his word (he was the driver hired for our villa, so we trusted that he would only take us to great restaurants when we asked, as a reflection of a 5* hotel/villa). Please be aware of this scam in Bali.I was extremely ill after this and it knocked out the rest of our time Bali. Restaurant did nothing when we called. We wanted them to be aware, maybe to avoid anyone else getting sick. Clearly they are very aware of what they are doing, and didn't care.On our way out, cockroaches EVERYWHERE. Would have never eaten there if I saw the filth when walking through the indoor space. I don't go out of my way to write bad reviews, but PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The food is not fresh, especially frozen shirmp. The price is too expensive. The women who served us is quite rude. They will extra charge if you ask a cup of ice except the our local driver. I think they pay money to local drive who take you to this restaurant. This was the worst dinner of our trip in Bali just because the inteoduction of local driver for the last dinner in Bali

Food is good. All the seating is good prepared. One thing they need to upgrade is the guy who is charge in taking the seafood order. Bad service, unfriendly.

Great fish. Great beach but very pricey. All restaurants have the same prices. Still worth a visit. Only if you're a real vegetarian it won't satisfy you.

The dining place is fantastic! Foods is fresh and abundant. We had great time having dinner after a day's tour. Our table on zhe beach, our feet buried in the warm sand while enjoying our food. Only the price was a bit too high.

Awesome restaurant and great food. The atmosphere is divine and right on the beach with live traditional and barong dance.

Was very expensive and the food was really bad, flavorless, and chewy, wish I had some good things to say but for the price was really disappointed. The squid was very hard and we couldn't finish it, needed to send it back twice and still couldn't eat it, they had to remove it from the final bill. Lots of other places with better food at affordable prices.

Your driver will take you there. They must get a good kickback for that. Worst restaurant ever in Bali. Seafood is very overpriced -even more expensive than in high-end hotels and it tastes average -for not saying bad. You can enjoy the sunset in the beach without paying the extra price. Be aware of good reviews, which are mostly written by local guides.

Way over priced - could not believe the final bill came to Aud $200 for 1 small crayfish and 12 small prawns. Small plate of spinach on the side and some rice. Could get the same for cheaper and better cooked in NZ. No lemon juice or seafood sauce or anything. Very dry and over cooked. Like most other reviews here a private driver recommended this so is a scam. Would never recommend this place.

Nice scenery, good dancers & delicious food

Seafood not fresh and too expensive for the food. The drinks is normal price like another place. Tourist trap. Don't waste your money here. All the drivers give 5 stars, but I'm sure all the foreigner who eating here will give 0 star. Anyway the view is good.

I would have given negative star rating if it was possible on google. I hour of wait for food to arrive. Had the remind me them 4 times. After one hour they come and say one out of 2 ordered dishes is not there. I mean how about telling us during or just after taking the order. Does it take one hour to figure out what you don’t have? Terrible customer service. No apologies, only excuses. Food is not cheap, was served cold and ordinary taste. Honestly why would someone want to come here? Avoid this place or visit at your own risk.

Awesome location. Drinks at sunset very nice. Menu very limited, only 2 starters. Seafood very expensive. When I went to pay the bill I pointed out they had missed charging me for a beer. Not a Thankyou or anything. Just gave me new bill & see you later. Sad

Be careful about this place. Our driver took us to this resturant even though we said we'd like to see the other seafood restaurants in the area. We knew this was a scam so we just left and walked another 5 or 10 minutes up the road where the nicer and cheaper seafood places are. As per the previous comments it seems like the drivers get incentives for bringing tourists there.

It's nice but little on the expensive side. Good was not worth the price. Staff was very pleasant to interact. My rating is only for the staff there. Really nice people but the place needs improvement in terms of food. Or maybe didn't suit my taste. Also for the money spent here on food, you can go have am amazing time at a nicer place.

DO NOT GO THERE! Absolutely disgusted with this place. The seafood and even their vegetables are Not Fresh. Funny how they charge 21percent service tax without providing any services their ordering system is so confusing and not even a friendly staff is there to help. Place is also flirty, we saw some mice running around and the staff look at it as if its normal. It ruined our last night at bali. We payed an expensive lesson.

Eating at the New Moon Cafe was the perfect way to end a long day of sightseeing on Bali. We stopped by this large beachside outdoor restaurant after a performance of the kechak dance at Uluwatu.

Great lunch with superb service. Just walking distance to the beach. Spectacular views of the ocean.
